A k a day in Lima Peru (Day 4)

And so day 4 dawns and I am pleased to report that yesterday's weather downturn has been somewhat overturned and we are back to el scorchio. Sun is out and it's hot, hot, hot. Today we decided to walk to the fruit market rather than the usual car trip even though we knew we were facing the treck back with loads of delicious fruit.

The walk starts by crossing the Pan Americano Highway on the overpass foot way. Much busier than Sunday but still a long way from capacity.

As we headed onward past our old apartment we soon arrive at El Polo shopping complex but alas that is not our final destination. Here you'll find a lot of modern stores catering for most things except groceries and food. There are restaurants but no significant grocery store.

After a time we arrive at the fruit market. Actually it's a bit of everything market but they have a fruit and a vegetable section. We go to the same stall every time and we manage to order our stuff in Spanglish. The lady there is always very happy to see us, maybe because its a big order for her. We didn't buy everything on the stall mind you.

On the way back we encountered and eagle and a family of dinosaurs.

And after dragging the super delux granny trolley full of fruit for almost three kilometres including up and over the footway the strava app confirmed that A-k-a-day Day 4 was done and dusted. Now for some fruit salad   deeeeelish.....
