A k a day in Lima Peru (Day 3)

Well it was great to get back outside after lockdown Sunday. The weather has turned a little and "winter" may have started. The seasons change suddenly here. One day it is one thing and the next all change. Having said that it is still pleasantly warm and we know it is not going to rain. Because, for those of you who maybe do not know, it doesn't rain in Lima.  We get about 1mm per YEAR and even then you can't really call it rain.

Looking along the avenue
Today's venture took us along the middle of Avenida San Borja Norte which is a main east/west thoroughfare in Lima and still walkable from our front door. It is a central green area flanked by roads on either side. We easily did our 5k without getting to the end. I noticed a sign telling me that they have over 53 km of cycle track in San Borja and you can get fined 2100 soles (£395.63) if you don't pick up your dog's poo poo. Hope you remembered the little bag.

Strava had no problem tracking us today and we racked up 5.78 km in just less than 1 hour. I felt sure that we had done more than 5k yesterday and that was born out I think by the time. Anyway it is all for a great cause.

I also spotted that the locals were supporting us in a huge way. The Bee Bee Cuna Jardin (Crib garden - so a kind of private nursery) have named themselves after our venture ha ha.

The only other notice that was worthy of mention was the guys walking around with signs telling us "No pisar las areas verdes". I knew that it was telling me not to do something on the green areas but I wasn't absolutely certain of the translation of pisar. It turns out that it was telling me not to step on the grass. What did you think it meant?

A couple of floral images captured along the way

Keep up the good work everyone.
