A k a day in Lima Peru (Day 12)

Today's effort was a little different because for the first time Sheila and I did our 5k at different times. Largely because we were short of available time and because we only have one bike!

Sheila set off first while I was working and cycled her way round our usual track with a few laps of a big empty carpark just for good measure. I sneaked my 5k into my lunch hour because I could manage that on the bike. Sheila's bike.

Now because we were whizzing round at breakneck speed there was no opportunity for photos so I'll have to dig into my reserves of archive images from the last few days.

I am delighted to report that we are now permitted to do exercise on Sundays so that should mean we do not have to do any more indoor athletics!!!

In order to be successful you just need the right attitude. These guys are running from the Olympic Memorial Garden.

One of the cool things available in Peru is the Rappi Man. Rappi is a company with thousands of people on bicycles and motor bikes and basically they will do anything you need then to do provided it is possible on two wheels. In addition to delivery of the normal carry out food they will go and get you a pint of milk, bring you a bottle of wine or even to your pal's house, pick up a something for you and bring it to you. The prices are relatively insignificant and the service is great. There are several competitors and they all do a great job.

I have been trying to identify and photograph some of the brids I see. I am fairly certain that this little chap (or chapess) is a Saffron Finch (Sicalis flaveloa) and they are pretty common.

You might recall on one of my earlier posts we passed a family of dinosaurs. On a previous outing Sheila snapped mama or dada from a different angle but the reason was not primarily to photograph a ginormasaurus but to try to snap the beautiful little red bird that was perched on it's tail. I wish we had managed to get a better image than this. What is it? Answers on the back of a S/100 note please. It was much more vividly coloured than we (well I mean Sheila really because "we" didn't take the photo. In point of fact "we" as in "me" didn't even manage to get his phone pointing in the right direction in camera mode before it flew off) managed to capture in this picture.
When we were in total lockdown only one member of the household was permitted to go shopping and not by vehicle. It was therefore common sight to see people wheeling their holiday suitcase to take home the spoils from a Tottus trip.

OK I will leave you today with a pre-lockdown picture from inside Jockey Plaza that just about sums it all up. Take care and watch out for the next exciting instalment.
