Once again we are back outside and glad to be able to do so. It's been another lovely if frustrating day. We were promised that the internet guys would come to do the final install in the house today and when some men arrived this morning and went into the hole they had previously made I must confess to getting a little excited. Alas it was not to be. They frittered around doing the kind of stuff that men do down little holes and then duly left. So the wait goes on.
Late afternoon arrived and it was time to do our walk. We did the same walk as day 1 but we did it in reverse this time. It was a bit of a challenge finding new stuff for you but we did come across a statue that I hadn't noticed before. The plaque alongside tells us that it is Dr Antonio Jose Brack Egg (a Scotsman might brack quite a few eggs in his time) a much celebrated "professor, communicator and investigator " of the biodiversity of Peru. A kind of David Attenborough of San Borja. He dedicated over 50 years of his life to studying the flora and fauna of the high Andes mountains. The animal beside him is an alpaca famed for their soft and warm fur.One of the activities you can engage in on your walk around the Pentagonito is golf. Now that may seem quite strange since there is no golf course nearby but as is normal in Peru there is a guy who has a little stall with a big net and he will give you golf lessons. And if putting is your thing then you can try your hand on his crazy golf track
